Career Path
I always wanted to become a kindergarten teacher while growing up. When my mom use to babysit when I was in Elementary school, I use to play school with the babysitting kids. By doing that made me want to become a teacher even more. By the time I started high school I got the chance to take SUCCESS which was a class, where you could go help out at a career center that you would wanna do after college. This class was nice because it helped you save money, because if you did not like that certain job then you would know ahead of time instead of spending money in college and finding out after you wasted your money in college that the career you paid for is not for you. Once I was finally a senior in high school (which is the year they offered that specific class) they cancelled it. So I never got to see if I would ever really like being a kindergarten teacher. When the school did that it made me really mad cause that is the class I always looked forward to when I would became a senior in high school. So since they took that class away, I still needed a high school credit, so that is when I decided to take anatomy. When I took anatomy I was only taking it so I could have enough classes to graduate, I never thought it would make me wanna change the career I wanted to go into after we started learning about how the body works and the bones. But it did, after taking anatomy I decided that I really loved studying bones and how the body works. So I talked to my anatomy teacher Mr. Klaus about it and he told me some different types of careers that dealt with bones and how the body works. The one that really sounded interesting to me was Radiology, so that night I started looking up information about Radiology and decided I would give it a try. So now that I am in college I am really looking forward to take the anatomy class in college. I am also looking forward to graduating college and starting my career as a Radiologist.

Kari, I think it is good that you want to go into Radiology. I know a lot of people in that field, I hope you do well and like it! I wouldn't be to upset with changing your career from when you were little. Everyone's mind changes and some happen while in college still. When I was little I always wanted to be an Equine Vet, but I changed completly and decided to do PTA. I dont know what really changes peoples mines when they are so dead set on it when they are little. I changed what I wanted to be in my Sports Physiology class, which is like Anatomy, but its awesome that we have that in common! Dont ever give up on your dreams and don't ever let anyone get in the way. It is your life and you do what makes you happy. Some of my friends let their boyfriends impact their decision on where to go to college. I told them that was wrong to let someone else choose what they want you to do with their life. I hope everything works in your favor. Keep your head up and dont let anyone or anything bring you down. You decide what kind of day your gonna have, not anyone else. Good Luck!!
ReplyDeleteKari, i have a question for you about Radiology, i have heard that it can give you cancer is that true? And its always a good thing that you change your mind before you start in that field and wasted all your money. I wish my old high school had a class like that so it would help so many people out before they went to college instead of spending to much time, money and patients on something that is not meant to be for them.I love learning about the body and all the parts its just the function part is where a&p get me. Health class got me interested in bones and the body parts. I hope you love the field your going in to and best of luck to you!
